A couple of events to report on from the last couple of days. First of all, the lovely informal organised by WIM at Inside Park, near Blandford on Sunday. A gloriously sunny day saw nearly 100 eager competitors run around quite a complex little area, made more difficult by the horrible undergrowth. Most people did the Score event and we had 5 WSX members in the top ten:

James Crickmore 1st; Jon Brooke 2nd; Tim Houlder = 3rd; Roger Crickmore 8th and Ian Sayer 10th.

And on the colour-coded courses we also had some good results, particularly from the juniors, which is really encouraging for the future of our club:

Hannah Franks 1st on White; Thomas Franks 4th on Yellow and Arthur Brooke 4th on Light Green.

Chris Brown (not quite a junior anymore!) came 4th on Orange.

Last night, quite a few WSX members went up to Oakley Village near Basingstoke for the 6th event in the Wessex Region Night League. As often is the case these days, it was based in a nice, cosy pub so it was great knowing that you had a lovely meal and a pint waiting for you on your return!

It was a really well-planned event with some tricky route choices to be made. And, for those who aim to get all the controls, it was clearly a testing event as the 9 competitors who achieved this took between 49 and 59 minutes to do so. Alan Blanchflower continues to do well in this event, coming a close 2nd, by 26 seconds, which means he should still be topping the league.

Finally, here is the list of local events planned for the next few months – so get your diaries out now!
